Hello Christopher,
I was waiting for a signal or contact from the Good Lord about plans I had made. But you know how the saying goes, “we make plans, and God laughs.” Christ led me to this point and to your church and I would like to become an active member. I have also entertained the thought of joining the WOW group. As I have exclaimed in an e-mail I sent, I am the 24/7 caregiver of my beloved husband who I have been wedded to for 33 years. In 1996, he was medically discharged from the Air Force after serving 16.9 years with a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Now, for the last six years he has been physically and mentally handicap with multiple sclerosis and dementia. God has given our family a special grace to take care of his son, instead of placing him in an institution. If I may share with you Christopher; when I was looking in your small discussion groups, I noticed no caregiver group was evident. I’m not talking about the professional nurse’s aid or nurse. I’m talking family 24 hour care and one who takes care of all aspects of a person’s life. This is a subject that would interest me in leading a small discussion group, but the difficulties in connecting those caregivers with each other in real time would be a challenge.
